Protest Rocks Ilorin Over LG Election Results
Protest has broken this morning, 22nd September, 2024 in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital following declaration of last Saturday Council polls.
The protesters in their large numbers converge in front of KWASIEC office carrying placards with various inscriptions such as “Our Votes Must Count,” “We No Go Gree,” “Kwara People Have Spoken,” and “Enough is Enough.”
The protesters, mostly supporters of the opposition parties are alleging that the results of the election were grossly manipulated in favour of the APC.
Security personnel are however on standby to present escalation of the situation.
Our correspondent report that some electoral officers who arrived at venue while the protest was on had their materials confiscated by the angry protesters.
