Governor Makinde Hosts MUSWEN Leadership, Reiterates Commitment to Strong Institutions

Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has reiterated his administration’s commitment to bequeathing strong institutions that will guarantee good governance in the state.

Governor Makinde made the remark while hosting the delegates of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN who were on a courtesy visit to the governor at his office, Agodi secretariat, Ibadan.

The governor promised full support and personal contributions towards the successful hosting of the forthcoming 2024 MUSWEN general assembly delegates’ conference to be held at the Islamic Centre, University of Ibadan next Sunday.

“I appreciate MUSWEN kind words of encouragement and commendation; we are investing in infrastructure that would last long, but we want to be remembered for building institutions for good governance”, Makinde said.

Earlier in an address, the President, Muslim Ummah of South West, MUSWEN, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo commended Governor Makinde for his commitment and steadfastness to improving the well being of people in the state.

Alhaji Oladejo, who led the delegation of Muslim leaders from South West Nigerian states on the visit, also gave kudos to the governor for approving eighty thousand naira minimum wage and massive infrastructure developments across the state.

Alhaji Oladejo, while intimating Governor Makinde of MUSWEN annual general assembly delegates’ conference coming up at the Islamic Centre, the Central Mosque, University of Ibadan next Sunday, hinted that the Governor has been chosen by MUSWEN leadership as the Chief Host on the occasion.

“Your excellency, you have been chosen by MUSWEN leadership as our Chief Host at the event”, Oladejo declared.

He explained that the Sultan of Sokoto who is also the President-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs will be the Special Guest.

On the entourage of MUSWEN President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo are the Executive Secretary, MUSWEN, Professor Muslih Yahya, Professor Rashid Aderinoye, Professor Wole Abass, Professor Dhikrullah Yagboyaju, the chairman Muslim Community, Ibadan, Alhaji Bayo Oyero, the Amira of FOMWAN in Oyo state, Dr Latifat Dairo, Oyo state Missioner, Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Dr Bashir Elesinmeta, the state Chief Missioner, NASFAT, Dr Qodr Saduddin-Adekilekun, representatives of Islamic Organisations including NACOMYO, Muslm Community of Oyo State, MUSCOY, MSSN, the Deputy National President, Nawar-Ud-Deen, Alhaji Abdulateef Adisa-olokuta among others.
