PAG Distributes Palliatives to Indigent Muslims, Challenges Political Leaders on Good Governance

The Political Awareness Group, (also known as Patriots’ Advancement for Good Leadership, PAG) has supported indigent Muslims observing Ramadan in Oyo State.
Through crowdfunding efforts, the group mobilized funds, which were distributed across the entire 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo state.
In a statement, the chairman of the group, Dr Lukman Tunde Fasasi and the Secretary, Mr Muftau Adesola Bamidele thanked all the donors who contributed to this cause, among them is Senator Abd Fatai Omotayo Buhari, Barrister Akeem Agbaje, Engineer Saheed Olosho, Prof Ayeleru and a host of many others who viewed this support as a religious obligation.
The political group prayed for bountiful rewards from Allah to the donors , expressing hope that with the improved support from existing and new donors, the cause will be doubled subsequently.
“To all fasting Muslims in this holy month, may Allah accept our fasting, grant our requests, bless us and provide abundantly for our families”
The group called on the government at all levels to be more sensitive to the economic challenges faced by the people by working around the reduction of the cost of living and alleviating poverty.
It urged politicians and public officials to be more committed to their responsibilities, ensuring that the benefits of democracy reach all communities across the nation.
“Developmental projects should not only be visible in urban areas for political purposes but should also focus on rural transformation to positively impact the rural economy, including agriculture”
The Political Awareness Group charged Oyo State Government to not only focus on increasing Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) but also create a friendly investment climate that reduces the cost of doing business in the state.
“Furthermore, we urge all levels of government to be more proactive in addressing the increasing threats to life and property”
The Political Group wished all Muslims a safe and joyous celebration as the end of Ramadan fast draws nearer.
