A  devastating explosion has occurred at the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) factory in Kaduna’s Kakuri Industrial Layout on Saturday.

The blast, whose cause is yet to be determined, was reportedly heard in several parts of the city, specially in communities Chikun and Kaduna South local government areas.

According to sources, one person was killed in the incident, while several others sustained injuries.

The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, including the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.

Details of the incident are still emerging, but eyewitnesses confirm the severity of the explosion.
