PDP Jittery Over Adelabu’s Rising Popularity — Minister’s Aide Claims

The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has strongly condemned what he described as deliberate misinformation by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over a purported attack at the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) solidarity rally in Ogbomoso.

In a statement issued by Comrade Femi Awogboro, an aide to the Minister, Adelabu dismissed claims that he promotes thuggery, stressing that his long-standing commitment has always been the empowerment of artisans, traders, youths, and grassroots entrepreneurs across Oyo State.

According to Comrade Femi Awogboro, the PDP’s write-up was not only misleading but carefully orchestrated to tarnish the image of a man widely known for peace, discipline, and inclusive leadership.

Awogboro emphasized that the Ogbomoso rally was peaceful and well-coordinated, adding that Chief Adelabu has zero tolerance for hooliganism, radicalism, or violence in any form. “My boss is a peace-loving man who detests disorder.

The people of Oyo State know this,” Awogboro said, recalling that Adelabu was appointed Chairman of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund by the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi precisely because of his firm stance against violence and insecurity.

Comrade Femi Awogboro further clarified that Chief Adelabu’s most recent consultations across all geographical zones of Oyo State were conducted peacefully, without any form of chaos, intimidation, or artificial barriers.

He noted that Adelabu moved freely across the zones, engaging directly with communities, traditional rulers, youths, traders, and professionals in an atmosphere of mutual respect and calm.

“This is a God-fearing man whose politics is rooted in peace, order, and development. The PDP should be mindful of the lies they peddle against a man whose public and private life consistently reflect decency and responsibility,” Awogboro warned.

He concluded that the PDP’s outburst is driven by Chief Adelabu’s growing popularity and the increasing acceptability of the APC across Oyo State, stressing that no amount of propaganda can erase a verifiable record of peaceful engagement and service. “The truth is clear to the people,” Comrade Femi Awogboro said. “And no campaign of falsehood can rewrite it.”
