AL-Hikmah University Ilorin:

According to the university website, AL-Hikmah University Ilorin, Nigeria, was established in 2005 by the Abdur-Raheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation (AROIF), Nigeria. The university came into existence via the granting of a license to operate as a conventional private university by the Federal Government of Nigeria (License No. 010) on 7th January 2005. It is the first Islamic faith-based university in Nigeria. It commenced academic activities during the 2005/2006 academic session with 70 students spread across the three (3) take-off colleges: humanities, management sciences, and natural sciences. Today, Al-Hikmah University has seven (10) faculties (Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, Education, Law, HealthSciences, Agriculture, Nursing, Computing, Engineering Postgraduate School. It has 50 undergraduate, 12 diplomas, and 43 postgraduate programs. The university also has 13 centers, viz: Centre for Part-time and Professional Studies, Centre for Diploma Studies, Centre for JUPEB Studies, Centre for ICT and Distance Learning, Centre for Islamic Heritage, Centre for Community Development, Centre for Research, Industrial Linkage, and International Cooperation (CRIIC), Centre for Summer Studies, Centre for Entrepreneurial and Vocational Studies, Centre for Remedial and Extral-Mural Studies, Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance, and Centre for Peace and Security Studies. Our student population is above 11,000, including postgraduate students and the Institute of Education. All our academic programs are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Al-Hikmah University stands out among Nigerian universities as a conventional private university with a well-articulated mission of promoting both academic and moral excellence for the good of the Nigerian nation in particular and for furthering the course of humanity in general. Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State:

Crescent University Abeokuta is a brainchild of His Excellency Prince Bola Ajibola (SAN, CFR),former judge of the International Court of Justice .The university prides itself as Citadel of Academic and Moral Excellence. Crescent was licensed and established in 2005 after an approval by the Federal Government through the National Universities Commission (NUC). The vision of its founder was: To breed global citizens rather than “brilliant beats”.
To nurture girl child education as majority of females especially Muslims were at a disadvantage. The university has since produced a galaxy of stars and industry captains within and outside Nigeria.Many of its Alumni who made first class at undergraduate have replicated similar feats in universities in Europe and America during their postgraduate studies. Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State

The formation of Nasrul-Lahi-Il-Fatih Society (NASFAT) – the Proprietor of Fountain University- was originally focused on prayer meetings for the Muslim elites, with a view to creating necessary opportunity for them to interact and rub minds with Islamic scholars on the one hand; and to enhance their knowledge about the principles and practices of Islam, on the other hand. Fountain University was granted an operational licence as a Private University on May 17, 2007 by the Federal Government on the recommendations of the National Universities Commission.Following this achievement, a Fountain Universities Strategic implementation Committee was set up to serve as “in loco Council” to actualise the birth of the University. This Committee worked tirelessly to put in place the necessary facilities for the University to take-off. The Committee was dissolved in September 2007 upon the inauguration of the Governing Council led by Professor N.O.Adedipe. The first Governing Council completed its first four Year in September 2011 after which it was reconstituted.
