Governors Douye Diri (Bayelsa) and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers) have arrived for the funeral service of former Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Dr Herbert Wigwe, his wife, Doreen and son, Chizzy.

Recall that INTEGRITY NEWS reported that Wigwe, wife, Chizoba; and son, Chizi, died in a helicopter crash in California, United States of America on February 9, 2024

The funeral service holds at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Already seated are dignitaries, guests, hundreds of mourners, members of the clergy, traditional rulers from Omoeke, Wigwe’s hometown and monarchs from Isiokpo.

A former Nigerian Ambassador to Scandinavian countries, Dr Godknows Igali, also arrived in the company of Governor Diri.

Rivers Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, led security operatives to the funeral venue.

The police on Friday said they had taken significant steps to reinforce security arrangements to ensure a peaceful and well-organised burial ceremony for the deceased.
