The chairman of a socio-religious and political group, POLITICAL AWARENESS GROUP (PAG), Dr Lukman T Fasasi (PhD) has sent his felicitation to the Muslims and people of Oyo State on the commencement of Ramadan fasting which started today.
The chairman of the organization, which is also known as Patriots Advancement for Good Leadership, sends his felicitation to the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji (Chief) Daud Makanjuola, the Chairman, Muslim Community of Oyo State (Muscoys), Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, the Executive Secretary of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (Muswen), Prof Yahyah Tayo Musliudeen and his cabinet members, the Chief Imams of all the towns in the State and their councils, all Islamic title holders, the League of Imams and Alfas, and all the Islamic organizations in the State.
Dr. Fasasi urged all those who are blessed economically in the society to significantly support the poor masses during this Ramadan period and beyond.
In his special message to the governor of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde, “In the spirit of Ramadan, I want to appeal to our Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, to roll out more palliative programmes that will have direct bearings on the poor masses as obtainable in some states like Lagos, Borno, and Niger. He beseeches Allaah to guide His Excellency to success in his welfare programmes for the masses and make the state a peaceful and wealthy place.
“And I’m urging our state Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Chief Bayo Lawal, Dr. Fasasi as a committed Muslim, to continue to be exemplary in his leadership role and support for the welfare of the people, especially Muslims, as symbolized by this Ramadan month which has bounty rewards for good deeds”, Dr Fasasi said.
He further tasks all wealthy or financially endowed Muslims to assist the poor Muslims to participate in fasting which is an essential pillar of Islam. The support, he believes, will also go a long way in ameliorating the agonizing effects of the current economic hardship on the people.
Dr Fasasi urges every individual Muslim to dedicate more time, during this Ramadan, to the remembrance of Allah, and pray that Allah guides Nigerian leadership in their policy formulations and implementations. He beseeches Allah to ease the sufferings and pains of the current economic hardship being experienced in the land and grant complete protection over the insecurity of life and persons in the country.
