Kwara Gov felicitates Emir of Ilorin at 83
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has felicitated the Emir of Ilorin Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 83rd birthday anniversary.
In his felicitation message signed by his
Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Saturday April 22, 2023, the governor asserted that the monarch has successfully etched his name in gold with his commitment to the welfare of his people, development of the state, and his statesmanly handling of public issues.
“I join the people of Kwara State, especially sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, to congratulate the Mai Martaba on this occasion as well as thank the Almighty Allah for His unqualified grace to the Emir and Ilorin under his watch. During his reign, Ilorin has gone through different phases of positive socioeconomic and political developments that have earned it respect and qualified it as a centre of excellence, peace, and harmony,” the governor said.
He added, “I pray Allah, the Lord of the worlds, to look after the Emir of Ilorin and his household, and grant him good health as he continues to serve the people and our community with everything that he has got.”
The Ilorin Emirate is a traditional state based in the city of Ilorin in Kwara State, Nigeria. It is largely populated by the Yoruba-speaking people, though the kingdom is a hybrid state due to the influence of the many other tribes that make up the city. It is one of the Banza Bakwai – or copy-cats of the legitimate Hausa Kingdoms – as a result of it being part of the Sokoto Caliphate.
