N’Golo Kante joins Saudi giant Al-Ittihad from Chelsea
Saudi Arabia giant, Al-Ittihad, have unveiled Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kante, after he joined from the English club on a three-year deal.
The 32-year-old, who won the World Cup with France in 2018, follows compatriot Karim Benzema, who left Real Madrid earlier this week and signed a three-year contract with the Saudi club.
Sky Sports suggested that the former Leicester City midfielder signed a contract worth around £86m-a-year.
A statement posted by the Saudi champions confirming the move read: ‘Ittihad Club wishes Kante success in achieving the club’s goals and fulfilling the expectations of all the club’s fans and supporters during his time with the team.
Al Ittihad are coached by former Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
The team finished five points ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr – who came second – last season.
Saudi Arabia has signed some of the world’s most sought-after football talents in recent time with more expected to join the growing football league.
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al Nassr on a free transfer in 2023, and Ballon D’Or winner Karim Benzema turned down another season at Real Madrid to join him.
