Nigeria’s President,  Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  has joined other world leaders who have arrived at the Palais Brongniart, the venue of the New Global Financing Pact summit in Paris, France.

Tinubu turned up at the event with his Aide-de-Camp, Nurudeen Yusuf, and was greeted by Catherine Colonna, France’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Europe.

The Nigerian leader who arrived in Paris on Tuesday, will attend the summit as well as hold bilateral discussions with officials from France, the United States, and Switzerland to examine potential strategies to attract foreign direct investments, according to Premium Times.

The meeting is scheduled to attract 39 heads of state from around the world. Several multilateral development banks will be present, including the World Bank, Africa Development Bank, European Union, African Union, and the United Nations.

The French-hosted financial conference aims to develop a system that is more responsive, just, and inclusive. A system that will combat inequalities, finance the climate transition, safeguard biodiversity, and bring the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) closer to realization.

i-News Nigeria reported that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday arrived in Paris, the capital of France, for a two-day New Global Financial Pact summit.

Tinubu left Abuja via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport earlier on Tuesday, for the event slated for June 22 and 23, in his first trip outside Nigeria as the president of the West African country.

During his visit to Paris, the President will meet with international leaders to evaluate and sign a New Global Financial Pact that prioritizes poor countries for assistance and investment in the aftermath of climate change, the energy crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The President, who is at the event with the members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council and other government officials, is expected to return over the weekend.
