Nationwide Strike: NLC, TUC Adamant, Decry Non Payment of Salaries
The National Executive Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have insisted that the nationwide strike will take effective next Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
The leadership of the unions on Friday after its meeting in Abuja, resolved to proceed with nationwide strike due to unpaid workers salaries and failure to implement agreement reached with Imo state government.
The General Secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja directed all NLC affiliate Unions to mobilize their members for the strike beginning on Tuesday next week.
The strike by the Organized Labour was in response to inability of the government to honour agreement with labour and the attack on the NLC President, Joe Ajaero.

Comrade Joe Ajaero, who appeared in neck collar, narrated how he was manhandled at the NLC Secretariat in Owerri, Imo State.
Comrade Joe Ajaero maintained that he was not a member of any political party as been insinuated.
He also denied any involvement in interfering with the affairs of Imo State
