Breaking: Tinubu Appoints Executive Directors For NPA, NIMASA
President Bola Tinubu in Abuja recently granted his approval for the appointment of new Executive Directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The announcement, conveyed through a statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Thursday, clarified that both agencies fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
The newly appointed Executive Directors for NPA include Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet, who will serve as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration, Engr. Olalekan Badmus as the Executive Director for Marine & Operations, and Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar as the Executive Director for Engineering & Technical Services.
Similarly, the new Executive Directors for NIMASA are Mr. Jibril Abba, designated as the Executive Director for Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services, Mr. Chudi Offodile as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration, and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi as the Executive Director for Operations.
The statement emphasized that the President has endorsed these appointments, having carefully reviewed the impressive profiles of the appointees. It is expected that the newly appointed Executive Directors will efficiently and expeditiously carry out their collective mandate. Their primary goal is to create conditions that significantly enhance the contribution of the Marine & Blue Economy sector to the nation’s GDP. The overall objective is aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda and aims to transform the Nigerian economy into a labor-intensive and inclusive one, generating new opportunities for all Nigerians. These appointments are made under the guidance of the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola.
