Tragedy As Bandits Murdered Kaduna School Principal, Abduct Two Women
Bandits have tragically taken the life of Mallam Idris Abu Sufyan, the Principal of Government Secondary School (GSS), Kuriga, situated in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This distressing incident occurred on Friday evening when the courageous Mallam Sufyan resisted a kidnapping attempt by the bandits, who, in the process, also abducted two women.
The distressing news was shared by Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 2015 to 2019. Through a post on X, Sani revealed the harrowing details of the incident, expressing sorrow over Mallam Sufyan’s demise and extending condolences to the grieving family.
“Mallam Idris Abu Sufyan, Principal GSS Kuriga, Chikun LG, Kaduna State was killed by Bandits when he tried to resist abduction. They succeeded in kidnapping two women in the process. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen,” read the heartfelt post.
The confirmation of this tragic occurrence came from Sufyan’s colleague, Aminu Auwal, who took to Facebook to share his grief and pay tribute to the deceased. Auwal described Mallam Sufyan as a noble and dedicated individual who made the courageous choice to remain in the village despite the constant threat of bandit attacks.
“I feel sad to inform you that our noble colleague; the principal of GSS KURIGA (SNR). MAL IDRIS ABU SUFYAN, has been killed by bandits and also kidnapped his wife with a baby boy. May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and also grant him Aljannatul firdausi. Amen,” Auwal wrote in his post.
He further highlighted Mallam Sufyan’s commitment to the community, emphasizing how the deceased played a vital role in teaching the village youth football and contributing to the betterment of the lives of the youth. Despite the opportunity to leave the town, Mallam Sufyan chose to stay with his people, ultimately paying the tragic price with his life when armed bandits invaded his home, ending his life and abducting his wife.
“Allah sarki Abusufyan Idrees, you had the opportunity to leave Kuriga village at once, but you chose to stay with your people. When he was alive, he was the village GSS principal; he used to teach the village youth football,” another grieving colleague, Manajer Deeni, expressed in his tribute.
Mallam Idris Abu Sufyan’s untimely death serves as a somber reminder of the ongoing security challenges faced by communities, particularly in regions susceptible to banditry and criminal activities. The collective hope is for peace to prevail, and for Mallam Sufyan’s contributions to be remembered and honored in the face of such tragic circumstances. May he rest in peace.
