Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, expressed gratitude to Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate, for visiting him and commiserating with the state after the recent explosion in Ibadan. Makinde stated, “I should use this opportunity on behalf of the good people of Oyo state, thank His Excellency, Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state and also the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last election. I thank you because politics didn’t seep into this. You came to commiserate with us over the explosion.”

Obi stressed the need to prioritize governance over politics and advocated for reducing the cost of governance at the federal level.
