The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Osun State Area Unit has on Tuesday called for the immediate arrest of Chief Oba Isoro O.O Dada over a purported movement restriction order in Ile-Ife as signed by him.

The Muslim group disclosed this in a Press Release today through its President, Engr. Oyediran Asimiyu Amobi in lieu of the announcement made to all dwellers of Ile-ife irrespective of their religion that Oro Owa-Ilare festival that will commence at 2:00pm and end at 7:00Pm on the 27th Wednesday, 2024 asking them to stay indoors around areas like: Igbotapa, Ajamopo, Gbodo, Ita olopo, Oja-Ife, Ita Oranfe, Enuwa square, Ooni Ilare, Sabo Road 7, Olumogbe street.

According to the statement, “It is with uttermost dismay that we, the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Osun State Area Unit, read on the social media, a News item purportedly signed by a certain Oba Isoro O. O. Dada who nicknamed himself Arole Obatala, Obalesu, Obatala Agbaiye which, by inference, is calling for unnecessary unrest. The author claimed to be restricting the movement of people in Ile-Ife on Wednesday 27/03/2024 because of “oro festival”. “This information came as a rude shock that in this century, a certain element can have the audacity to force unnecessary curfew on the people without the instrumentality of the State to so do.
“We are more disturbed when the said author directed his message restricting the movement to the Muslims. We are convinced that this could not have happened without ulterior evil motive of the author, his agents and sponsors. It will be recalled that Muslims were attacked in several Mosques in Ile-Ife last year by the same set of people, who are by all means should be tagged terrorists by their evil actions. We wondered where the element got the powers and the authority to solely and flagrantly restrict movement of people in and around any part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that is being ruled by laws, rules and regulations.
“To say the least, the action of Mr. Oba Isoro Dada is barbaric and it is an act of terrorism that must not go unpunished by the Government at all levels. His declaration is evil and it is a serious effrontery on the Security Agencies, laws of Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Nigerian State at large. The action is capable of throwing the peaceful and serenity milieu of Osun State and South West Nigeria into turmoil. It is not only aiming at maiming and killing of innocent souls but also calling for war which must not be allowed to happen.
“Mr. Oba Isoro needs to be reminded that every law-abiding citizen of Federal Republic of Nigeria has the fundamental right to lawfully move about not only for their lawful businesses but also for their lawful needs in any part of Nigeria and at any time without any hinderance(s) or fear of molestation from anybody”, it said.
The group however called on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, Osun State Commissioner of Police, State Director of Department of State Services, Osun State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps and other Security Agencies to swiftly swing into action by preventing Mr. Oba Isoro Dada, his agents and sponsors from perpetrating their evil plans against the State and her inhabitants. They should be called to order and probably arrested for throwing the State into panic mode.
It also called on the Inspector General of Police, Osun State Commissioner of Police and other Security Agencies to provide adequate security for the people of the community during the mentioned period and beyond to avoid what can snowball into needless crisis and Mr. Oba Isoro, his agents, collaborators and sponsors should be made to sign undertaking with respect to security of lives and properties before, during and after their activities.

END.
