Security: Zulum to Supply APCs Patrol Vehicles to Nigerian Troops Battling Boko Haram/ISWAP

Bornu State Governor Babagana Zulum has announced plans to supply Nigerian troops with AllTerrain Patrol Vehicles (APCs) and patrol vehicles to help in the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP.

On Tuesday, the governor paid an assessment visit to MalamFatori, a former Boko Haram stronghold on the shores of Lake Chad.

During the visit, Zulum said the vehicles would be provided to the troops to ensure that they are better equipped to combat the terrorist forces.

He

declared his imminent approval for the deployment of armoured personnel carriers (APCs), patrol vehicles, and other security equipment to improve the combat capability of the troops against terror.

Zulum stated that the support was meant to enhance the military‘s capabilities and make them more effective in combating insurgents.

The governor praised the officers and members of 68 Battalion, MalamFatori, for their courage and skill in carrying out their tasks.

Col. A. Onyeukwu, the commanding officer of 68 Battalion in MalamFatori, welcomed Governor Zulum who had recently donated 9 APCs to the Nigerian Police Force to increase their ability to counter terrorism in Maiduguri and recently liberated areas.
