“Supporters of Hackimi are endorsing adultery” — Sanusi Lafiagi

A Nigerian university lecturer and Muslim scholar, Sanusi Lafiagi, has condemned the supporters of the Moroccan footballer, Achraf Hakimi’s action against his wife.

Lafiagi mentained that those supporting Hackimi are literally endorsing adultery.

Thd university don stated this in a reaction via his Facebook page on Friday.

“Even if the Hackimi nansense is true, I don’t see anything smart about it, unless we want to continue to glorify adultery. [The] man admitted inviting a lady to his home after he sent his wife and two kids on holiday. The lady later accused him of rape, which is now before the court. The ground on which his wife is allegedly seeking divorce is infidelity,” Lafiagi wrote.

He added, “The law of the land where they live grants women half of their ex husband’s wealth in such cases. It’s a right that she’s entitled.”

He, therefore, decried how the ex-wife, Hiba Abouk, is being tagged a gold digger.

“Could it be that people do not know the backgrounds to the issue? Or they are not acquainted with the laws of the land? Or they probably didn’t know that the woman was already successful and made before she married Hackimi?” Lafiagi queried.

He noted that “Ignorance has no solution other than asking questions. The right ones though.”
