Unilesa celebrates Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi’s installation as Balogun Ijo of Holy Trinity Cathedral, Omofe, Ilesa

The University of Ilesa, Osun State, has joined the entire Ilesa community and well-meaning Nigerians in congratulating Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi on his installation as the Balogun Ijo of the Cathedral of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa.

The installation ceremony was held at the Cathedral of Holy Trinity church, Omofe, Ilesa, on Saturday, 29th April, 2023 and was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life.

In a press statement released by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Biodun Adeleke, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu (Ph.D., FCA) expressed his delight and conveyed the good wishes of the management and staff of the University to Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi on the momentous feat.

According to the statement, the Vice-Chancellor remarked that Asiwaju’s installation as Balogun Ijo is a clear testimony to his unwavering service to God and humanity.

He further wished him well in his new role and emphasized the importance of a stronger relationship between the University and the community towards the joint development of Unilesa to a world-class standard.

The Registrar of the University, Mr. Funso Ojo, and the Acting Dean, Faculty of Education, Dr. Diipo Folorunso, accompanied the Vice-Chancellor to the event.

Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, a notable figure in the community, has now taken up the position of Balogun Ijo, which is a significant role in the Cathedral of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa and the Yoruba land.

It should be noted that siwaju Yinka Fasuyi through his Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Foundation (AYFF) has recorded unforgettable achievements through offering of Bursary Scholarship to 1,270 Students from all the Public Secondary Schools in the Six LGAs in Ijesaland, donation of Staff Recreation Club to Osun State College of Education, Ilesa in 2020, provision of Agro-Preneurship and Skills Acquisition Empowerment to 300 Beneficiaries at 50 Beneficiaries for each of the six LGAs in Ijesaland in 2020 and initiating the negotiations, reconciliation, and restoration of Electricity to Ijesaland amongst several other developmental projects for his immediate communities.
