JAMB: MSSN extols Oloyede, commends innovations in conduct of 2023 UTME

The Ogun Area Unit of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), has commended the introduction of innovations in the conduct of this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Muslim body gave the commendation while extolling the integrity of Prof Is’ haq Oloyede, the registrar of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) after its monthly Working Committee Meeting (WCM) of 30th April, 2023.

“The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Ogun Area Unit to extol the ground-breaking innovations introduced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) under Professor Is-haq Oloyede in the conduct of the just-concluded 2023 examination which made the process unprecedentedly seamless,” the Muslim society said in a statement.

“The society notes with delight, the deployment of Voice Detective Device which records conversations by candidates during the course of the examination for monitoring purposes, the Closed Circuit Television which visually documents proceedings, and the Biometric Scanning Device for candidates’ profile authentication.

“With the machineries the board has put in motion, the scourge of examination malpractice is being discouraged and fought, both in conception and implementation! We therefore wish to identify with the board, whose Registrar has left no one in doubt of his ambivalence for the hydra-headed monster,” the MSSN said.

Also commending Oloyede, Amir, MSSN OGAU, Abdulfatāh Adigun, expressed delight that the revolution is coming at a timẹ when the society’s pet project “Mission for the Eradication of Examination Malpractice (MEEM)” is walking the talk of examination integrity across the strata of our educational ladder.

He said, “The passion and vision of MEEM geared towards cleansing the education industry from dishonest practices have been thankfully captured in the workings of JAMB under Oloyede in the April examination.

“Going forward, our Society, through MEEM, wishes to restate its fervent commitment to partnering with all stakeholders, including JAMB in subsequent outings to further cement the task of ridding our society of examination racketeering as a worthy partner in progress.”

The society maintained that Professor Oloyede has, indeed, taken JAMB to an apogee of not only trust , but confidence which are dual components of integrity in civilized societies.

“We commend and praise his fortrightness, doggedness and incalculable sacrifices to JAMB and fatherland which are the cardinal traits which the younger generation relishes to nurse the hope of a better nation.

“We finally call for concerted efforts from all stakeholders, especially parents, guardians and schools to lend the deserved hands in the fight against examination irregularities for the sake of our future. For us to bid the virus a permanent farewell, all hands must be on deck. Remember, All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men watch and do nothing,” Adigun concluded.
