Kano Gov-elect Abba sends invitation to Sanusi II for swearing-in ceremony
The Kano State Governor-elect, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended a heartfelt invitation to the 14th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, to his upcoming swearing-in ceremony.
The invitation, which has been making waves on social media platforms, was dated May 26th and bore the personal signature of the governor-elect.
The auspicious event is scheduled to take place at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofa Mata, commencing at 9.00 am.
The invitation letter, addressed to the revered Emir, expressed the governor-elect’s gratitude for his victory in the 2023 gubernatorial election held in Kano State on March 18th, which culminated in his issuance of a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The letter conveyed Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf’s deep pleasure in inviting the esteemed Emir to his momentous swearing-in ceremony, which will be attended by his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.
The governor-elect emphasized the significance of Sanusi II’s presence, stating that it would not only add splendor to the occasion but also serve as a vital source of support and inspiration as they set out on a journey to revive Kano State’s lost glory and reputation.
The governor-elect expressed his sincere belief that under his administration, Kano State would experience a resurgence in progress and development across all spheres of human endeavor.
He fervently hoped that the Emir’s positive response would confirm his acceptance to grace this important event.
While the governor-elect’s invitation has generated considerable excitement among the citizens of Kano State, it remains uncertain whether Sanusi II has accepted the invitation to attend the ceremony.
As anticipation builds and the people eagerly await a response from the revered Emir, the event promises to be a significant milestone in the state’s political landscape, symbolizing unity and fostering a spirit of cooperation between key stakeholders.
The governor-elect’s gesture of extending an invitation to the former Emir, whose removal from office in 2020 generated intense discussions and controversy, signifies a fresh start and a renewed commitment to inclusive governance.
Should Sanusi II accept the invitation, it would further amplify the anticipation that the deposed emir might return to Kano and possibly take back his royal position hinted on the promise of the governor-elect of the state.
As the countdown to May 29th continues, all eyes remain on the response of Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, eager to witness the unfolding of this historic event that holds the promise of reshaping Kano State’s future under the leadership of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
