An Osun State High Court has issued a verdict on the case involving the owner of Hilton Hotel and Resort in Ile-Ife, Dr Abdulrahman Adedoyin, in relation to the unfortunate demise of Obafemi Awolowo University’s postgraduate student, Mr Timothy Adeleke.
The court has sentenced Dr Abdulrahman Adedoyin to death by hanging, having found him guilty of the murder of Timothy Adeleke.
The court also pronounced the two co-conspirators guilty of the charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, subsequently handing them the same death sentence.
Timothy Adeleke, an MBA student in the field of Business Administration, had traveled from Abuja to Ife to take his examination and had chosen to stay at the Hilton Hotel. However, he was reported missing by the police on November 7, 2021.
Several days later, the Osun police command released a statement informing the public that the 37-year-old student had been discovered deceased, yet no further details were provided regarding the circumstances surrounding his death or the manner in which his body was found.
