Akeredolu: Odebowale, Betty denounce false rumour of governor’s demise

Dr. Oladoyin Odebowale, the Senior Special Assistant, Special Duties & Strategy to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, has vehemently refuted the viral rumor regarding the governor’s death.

Odebowale categorically stated that the news was completely false during a phone call with i-News Nigeria correspondent this morning.

Reacting to the rumor, Odebowale, popularly known as High Priest, expressed himself in Yoruba, saying, “Aketi, inu igbo ni won ma ku si. Oke erupe ni won ma sun. Wọn kò ní bá wa gbé orí ilẹ̀ yí pẹ́. They will leave this place before you.”

He cursed Aketi’s enemies, “Aketi, they will only perish in their own falsehood. They will not be able to bring this home upon us. They will depart from this place before you.”

Also debunking the rumour, the state’s First Lady, Betty Akeredolu, was taken aback by the news of her husband’s death and vehemently confirmed that he was alive. She emphasized that the rumour was completely fabricated.

She verified that her husband was out of the country on vacation. Mocking those who spread the false news of his demise, she urged the governor to “continue enjoying your vacation.”

Reports had circulated claiming that the prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) member had passed away in Germany.

There were allegations that he was receiving treatment for cancer at a foreign hospital.

In a Facebook post on her official page, the First Lady of Ondo State wrote, “That is Baba Aketi! Continue enjoying your vacation. Please, what gossip have I missed?”

Mrs. Akeredolu recently shared a video in which her husband, aged 67, was seen singing and dancing in a room, demonstrating his good health and well-being.

In the same post, she wrote, “Shitlover, is it you again? You will be the one to go to hell!”
