Arsenal to launch fresh bid for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber

Arsenal, according to the UK Sun, are reportedly prepared to launch a fresh attempt to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

The Gunners had a £30 million bid turned down earlier this week, with the Dutch side demanding a massive £50 million for the 22-year-old.

According to The Daily Mail, they are now planning to submit a fresh application.

Arsenal executives are thought to be hesitant to match Ajax’s asking price, but they feel a deal can be struck in the next few days.

Mikel Arteta regards Timber as a top transfer target and is eager to sign the defender before preseason begins.

Personal conditions have previously been agreed upon by the two camps.

The London club is already on the verge of signing Kai Havertz from Chelsea to strengthen their squad.

A £65 million agreement was agreed with the London rivals earlier this week, with the midfielder set to undergo an imminent medical abroad.

The Gunners are also pushing to sign Declan Rice from West Ham, but the deal is currently under threat as the league champions, Manchester City, enter the race to sign the midfielder.
