The tranquil atmosphere in Osogbo has been disrupted as chaos unfolded at the Osogbo Eid praying ground, where Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke was scheduled to observe the two rakat prayer for the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

According to reports, Governor Adeleke was unable to partake in the prayer due to the pandemonium that erupted when his designated space was seized by Former Senate Spokesperson, Senator Ajibola Bashir.

Despite attempts by some Muslim leaders to intervene and arrange an alternative space for Senator Bashir, the situation remained unresolved.

“The efforts to convince the former Senator to vacate the seat for Governor Adeleke were futile,” stated the report.

Nonetheless, the remaining worshippers at the Eid praying ground, led by the Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheikh Animasahun, proceeded with the Eid-El-Kabir prayer, albeit with some attendees departing due to concerns and fear.

It is important to note that the rumors circulating on certain online media platforms about an assassination attempt on the Governor are false.

Attempts to contact the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for further clarification have been unsuccessful, as there has been no response to the message sent at the time of compiling this report.
