Super Eagles slips out of Africa’s top five in latest FIFA ranking

Nigeria’s Super Eagles slipped out of the top five African football teams on the latest ranking by the world football governing body, FIFA, despite their 3-2 away victory against Sierra Leone.

According to the latest ranking, the three-time African champions moved up to 39th position while recording a total of 5.68 points to move up a place from their position last April.

The Super Eagles remain the best 6th football team in the continent of Africa.

The team ahead of the rival Black Stars of Ghana, the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

Morocco maintained its position as the African best and stayed 13th in the World ranking.

The Lions of Teranga are placed 18th in the World and 2nd in Africa while the Carthage of Tunisia is 31st in the World and 3rd in Africa.

The Desert Foxes of Algeria and Pharaohs of Egypt complete the top five teams.

World champions, Argentina is the best team in the world in the lastest ranking. Their brilliant performances at the just concluded  FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2023, aided the team’s status on the monthly ranking.

France, Brazil, England and Belgium completed the top five football teams in the world.
