Gov. Bala Muhammed dolls out 300 riyals each to Bauchi pilgrims in Makkah

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has donated 300 Saudi Riyals to each of the more than 3,000 Bauchi pilgrims in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

This is according to a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Mukthar Gidado, on Friday in Bauchi.

According to Gidado, the governor gave out the gesture while visiting Bauchi camp in the holy land where he met with pilgrims from his state.

He stressed that the governor’s gift was intended to supplement the pilgrims’ expenses throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), 300 Saudi Riyals equals N75,000.

“Mohammed commended them for respecting the authorities, both in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“He assured that his administration would not relent in supporting the state pilgrims’ welfare board in order to provide best services to pilgrims,” he said.

Gidado further stated that the state government would collaborate with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to alleviate some of the difficulties that the state’s Hajj commission is facing in the holy land.

He added that the Bauchi state governor thanked the pilgrims for their prayers for the success of his administration and asked them to keep up the pace.
