French football player Kylian Mbappé has expressed his happiness upon his visit to Cameroon, his country of origin.

The 24-year-old French football captain and Paris Saint-Germain striker, who was born in Paris to a Cameroonian father, is visiting the West African country for the first time since he was a teenager.

He also met with Cameroonian Prime Minister Joseph Ngute and other top officials on Friday.

Mbappé is in Cameroon to undertake humanitarian work for his organization, which aims to help young people fulfill their dreams.

The athlete met other Cameroonian athletes, like MMA fighter Francis Ngannou, with whom he was photographed smiling.

He also played basketball with Joakim Noah, a former Chicago Bulls star, at Noah’s court, where he was photographed with a heavy crowd. He later played football against the Cameroonian team Vent d’Etoudi FC, according to Reuters.

Mbappe has been the subject of transfer controversies with his club, as he said he would not extend his deal with the French giant beyond 2024.

The young striker has scored 212 goals in 260 games for the club. He joined PSG in 2017 on loan from Monaco before signing a 180 million-euro deal.
