Niger governor disbands all commissions, boards, parastatals

The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, has ordered the immediate dissolution of all statutory commissions, boards, and parastatals, as well as the termination of all political appointees appointed prior to May 29, this year.

Governor Umar Bago ordered the dissolution and termination of the appointments in a statement made available to newsmen in Minna by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman.

Alhaji Usman went on to say that the dissolution affects both tenured and non-tenured commissions, boards, and parastatals, and he encouraged concerned officials to comply with the decision promptly.

Governor Muhammad Umaru Bagi, the statement said, acknowledged the excellent contributions of the appointees to the growth of the State and the administration of their position.

Those affected by the dissolution were however instructed to return all government properties in their possession including official vehicles given to the most senior Director in their respective organizations.

The Governor wishes the members of the disbanded Commissions, Boards, Parastatals, and Political Appointees well in their future endeavors, according to the statement.
