Gunmen kill Imo traditional ruler

Gunmen have tragically taken the life of Eze James Nnamdi, the traditional ruler of Nguru in Aboh Mbaise local government area of Imo state.

According to reports, Eze James Nnamdi, also known as Eze Mmirioma, was hosting a guest on Monday afternoon when the assailants forcefully entered his palace and unleashed a hail of gunfire upon them.

After the attack, the monarch was immediately rushed to a hospital, but sadly succumbed to his injuries, reports unveiled.

The guest, who also suffered gunshot wounds, is currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed healthcare facility.

The incident has left the local residents in a state of panic, particularly as it transpired on a day when non-state actors had called for a sit-at-home order.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic event, Mr. Henry Okoye, the Public Relations Officer of the Imo State Police Command, stated that the Command is profoundly saddened and that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammed Barde, has directed a thorough investigation into this heinous act of murder.
