FUNAAB ranked 2nd best university in Nigeria on 5 performance indicators

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), a renowned institution in agricultural studies in Africa, has attained a remarkable milestone in the inaugural Times Higher Education’s (THE) Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings of 2023.

Out of Nigeria’s 258 universities, FUNAAB secured the second position and ranked 26th among universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

According to a report, the rankings evaluate the top universities in Sub-Saharan Africa based on five performance indicators: ‘access and fairness’, ‘Africa impact’, ‘teaching skills’, ‘student engagement’, and ‘resources and finance’.

The announcement of THE’s Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings took place on Monday, June 26, 2023, during the organization’s inaugural forum held in collaboration with Ashesi University in Ghana.

“These rankings, developed in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, assessed 88 universities across 17 countries in the region,” the report unveiled.

Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, the vice-chancellor of FUNAAB, extended his congratulations to the entire university community in light of this achievement.

He expressed his hope that “this recognition would inspire greater dedication to duty among the staff and students.”
